Everest Base Camp Trek route first goes through the highlands of Solu before reaching the higher Khumbu region. The route passes through regions with great topographical and climatic differences, from the hot terai to the glacier world of Khumbu. In between lie the Siwalekh Hills and the Mahabharat Range with the Sun Koshi Valley. The hike continues through the Sagarmatha National Park. There are different people and cultures here. This region lives mainly from tourism. Solu lies at an average altitude of 2600 – 3400 m.
